Herbal products have been used for years to treat ailments for various people. In today's society, the use of various herbal products has become almost mainstream. Even though they are used more and more frequently, misconceptions are still in existence as to the regulations and safety issues for these products. In order for this relatively new industry to thrive, the misconceptions need to be understood and rooted out of conventional thinking.
The safety issue that surrounds herbal products can sometimes be called into question by many consumers. However, what most people do not realize is that no matter whether they are purchasing a natural facial mask that contains various herbs or marshmallow root tea, all herbal products are held to the same safety standards that other consumer products are. One thing about most herbal products is that they are considered to be food items and this helps to ensure that their safety standards are even higher than most other products on the market today.
Another misconception about herbal products is the federal regulations imposed on these items. All supplements, including herbal products, must follow the federal regulations that control manufacture, labeling and advertising. Even those herbal products weight loss supplements that enthusiasts seek are considered food. Therefore, they have to meet with the federal guidelines that are required of all food products. Another regulation that the herbal products industry must meet is that the items that are produced must meet certain sanitary conditions, thus ensuring that the herbal products are not contaminated.
No matter whether a person chooses to use weight loss herbal products or herbal hair products, the outcome will be the same. The safety of the herbal products industry is assured by the federal government. Everyone that purchases herbal products for consumption or other recreational use can rest assured that the item is safe for them and their family. If questions do still exist, a person can research the herb or supplement on the internet, or ask their local pharmacist.

Natural Healing Help - The Benefits of Organic Herbal Products
Organic herbal products can be a hard concept to grasp for many who are wanting to purchase herbs. Organic is all natural and just as food is all natural, an organic herbal product is better for the health of the consumer then something that is not organic. The one downside is that the effects may take longer to be felt, than those of non organic herbal products.
An even better reason for the consumer to purchase organic herbal products over other herbal items is that they rarely have side effects. The main reason for this is that they are one hundred precent all natural and this helps to reduce the toxins that one allows into their system. However, one thing to really consider when using organic herbal products is that they may interact negatively with other medications. A person should always consult their doctor or pharmacist before beginning any new regime.
The choice of whether or not to use herbal products is strictly a personal one. The most popular and effective natural treatment comes in the form of herbs. Plants like black cohosh and red clover contain a class of phytoestrogens that simulate the hormone estrogen in the human body. Soy is also said to possess some of these phytoestrogens and can be beneficial as well. It has been documented that by consuming a regular dose of soy products can be as effective as some prescription drugs used when treating menopausal symptoms. Other natural sources are flaxseed oil, chaste berry, ginseng and the Chinese herb, dong quai.
Black cohosh, unlike some of the other herbs used to treat menopause, does not have any phytoestrogen. This herb has no hormonal effect on the menopausal woman. Yet when this herb is ingested it has proven to alleviate hot flashes, night sweats, headaches, and a few other symptoms. The question researchers asked was, how did black cohosh do this? Apparently, black cohosh prevented the symptoms from happening at all by directly affecting the pituitary gland's secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH).
In today's world we have all become accustomed to instant results. Take a pill, swallow some liquid and within a few minutes or hours you can begin to feel some relief. When dealing with herbal remedies the opposite is true. For the herbs to work they have to build up in the body over a three to four week period. This process can be time consuming and tedious, but be patient, the results and added peace of mind are worth it.

All too often hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has uncomfortable side effects. The hot flashes, mood swings and headaches are bad enough; women do not need additional symptoms piled on top of what they already have. This is the biggest reason that more and more women are looking at herbal and homeopathic remedies. There is still a lot of research to be done, however there is a lot of evidence supporting the effectiveness of natural remedies.

Natural Healing Information - Something Juicy About Natural Health Remedies
Many were introduced to juicing back in the late 1980's through natural food stores. This type of juicing isn't the same as the abuse of steroids that you hear bodybuilders doing. Juicing, in this case, is using the juice from fresh fruits and vegetables to compliment your diet. Juicing can be fun and it also has many health benefits.
The theory behind juicing is a simple one. By extracting the juice from a fruit or vegetable, you are taking in the valuable nutrients without all the work of having your body break down the fibers (although preparing the produce can be quite a bit of work!). When you take the juice in this state, you are not losing any vitamins or minerals that might otherwise be lost through a pasteurization process or from having the juice sit on the shelf and deteriorating. Another benefit is you can consume far more fruits and vegetables in one sitting than you ever could by eating them whole. Have you ever tried to eat five carrots, two apples, a pear and a bit of ginger? It is not easy, however if you were to put those same items through a juicer you could fill a glass with the juice and consume them all at once! This is definitely a plus for those of us that do not enjoy eating fruits or vegetables.
To start with, you will need a good juice machine. The ones you see in the health food juice bars are massive and the bars need those to handle the large amounts of produce they juice on a daily basis. You will not need something quite that industrial. Prices range anywhere from $100 to $1,000, you can find one that suits your budget. Try not to get a cheap one you will regret it. A low-end juicer won't have enough power and will get clogged easily and you will end up frustrated with it. Get good quality; a juicer in the $150 to $200 range is usually sufficient. When the Juiceman juicer first came out this was a good, solid machine, capable of handling daily use, and since the late 80's they have no doubt improved.
Preparing your produce for juicing is probably the most time consuming part of the whole process. Fill your sink with cold water, squeeze half a lemon into the water and add some salt (a couple of tablespoons). Let your produce soak for about ten minutes. There are also some products in the health food stores designed specifically for washing produce should you decide to try that. One way of dealing with removing the wax from fruits like apples, one source suggests that you dip the fruit or vegetable into boiling water for approximately five seconds. While organic produce is expensive, you might want to get your apples from a natural market where they do not wax produce such as apples or cucumbers.
Coming up with new combinations of juices can be fun. You want to choose produce that has high water content to begin with. Produce such as apples, oranges, carrots, celery, cucumbers and pears are a few of the popular choices. You can juice melons, but they tend to be mushy and clog the filter and you have to make sure that you cut the rinds off. Garlic and fresh ginger also work well, but treat them as you would when using them as spices in cooking. Use garlic and ginger sparingly, they have great nutritional value, but they can easily overpower the flavor of your juice. There is also what is called "green" juice made from such produce as kale or wheat grass. These green juices have a very strong flavor and you don't need to make them in large servings.

Natural Healing Information - You Are Getting Sleepy…
Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to stop smoking? Do you want a better golf game? Do you want to be more confident? Yes, all this can be yours, but wait there's more…
Seriously, there is something that can help you achieve your goals, its called hypnotism. Of course the moment we hear the word "hypnotism" we get visions of the stereotypical magician, waving a pocket watch in front of a subject and then telling the poor, unsuspecting soul to act like a chicken while the subject's friends die of laughter in the audience.
What exactly is hypnotism? Hypnotism is a natural state of mind created by relaxing the body and mind. This state of relaxation opens up the brain and heightens the senses, making the subject receptive to suggestions. This state of mind is perfectly natural and similar to the one we are in when we are in right before we hit deep sleep. This is called the "alpha state".
Many of us experience the alpha state when we are daydreaming, or so involved in a good book that we totally block out anything else going on around us. Hypnotism can be a very effective tool and is more than a novelty at parties or in shows on the Vegas Strip. Athletes use it to increase their performance in competition, people also use it to overcome bad habits such as overeating or smoking. With hypnotism you are reaching the sub-conscious and speaking directly to it.
Our sub-conscious is constantly at work, it never sleeps. Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week throughout our whole life, our sub-conscious is using all five senses to collect information. At night when we sleep some of this information leaks into our dreams.
The only difference between hypnotism and self-hypnosis is whether we choose to have someone hypnotize us or do it ourselves. The truth is that either way, we are the captains of our own ships; it is the individual who decides whether they will be hypnotized. People who can relax easily and are open to the experience have a better chance of being hypnotized than someone who is tense. A common misconception is that a hypnotist can make you do anything they say. The truth is that the conscious mind is always present and you cannot be made to do anything against your will.

Need Natural Healing Tips - What Is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is the process through which the body can cure itself of illness with remedies that contain minute amount what probably caused the illness to begin with. "Like cures like" is one of the base principles of homeopathic healing. This theory is similar to the way vaccines work. To prevent certain childhood illnesses, a child is given a shot that contains an anti serum derived from the illness itself. This helps the body build up a tolerance on its own and boosts the immune system.
All over the world, homeopathy has become the second most preferred method of healing. One distinct advantage of homeopathic remedies over herbal treatments is the homeopathic remedy offers instant results - providing you have taken the right remedy for your affliction.
Unlike over the counter drugs and prescriptions, there are no unpleasant side effects with homeopathic remedies. These remedies are safe enough for babies and pregnant or nursing women to use. The remedies will not interfere with any regular medication taken either.
The whole idea of homeopathy for the medication to work with your body to help it cure itself. Most conventional medicines mask the symptoms, or cover up the pain. You take an aspirin, your pain is gone, but the problem is still there. Got a cough? Take some cough medicine to cover up that tickle in your throat, but that does not necessarily mean you are cured of the base cause. Homeopathic medicine treats the illness as a whole, no one symptom becomes singled out and treated. By treating the illness in this manner, the cause itself receives treatment, thus effectively eliminating the illness.
Another plus to homeopathic remedies is they are not addictive. As soon as the symptoms stop and you start to feel better, you can stop taking the remedy. On the other hand, should you find that your symptoms are not going away, and then you are probably taking the wrong remedy and should look into using a different one?
So, what is the downside to homeopathy? Firstly, trying to find the right remedy to fit your symptoms can be tricky. For example, there is no across the board homeopathic remedy for headaches. To find your remedy you have to look at where the pain is centralized, what were the circumstances that brought on the headache and what makes it feel worse. Every aspect of an illness has to be considered before you can begin to narrow down your options for remedies.
Homeopathic remedies are widely varied and it would be impossible for a pharmacy or health food store to contain all of them. There are about thirty or so that are commonly used and these you can usually find easily. However, if your remedy is not one of these, then you might find yourself embarking on a very long search to find it.

Natural Healing Tips - Do Herbal Remedies Really Work?
Alternative medicine has been around since the beginning of man's time on earth. At one time, natural remedies were conventional medicine, but as technology advanced some of those teachings fell to the wayside and were all but forgotten or dismissed as superstition. Now the pendulum has swung in the other direction and people are taking a closer look at these natural remedies.
There are many people who swear by herbal remedies, and there are even some doctors who incorporate herbs with modern medicine. If you go into any health food store, no doubt you will find at least one aisle stocked with all kinds of herbs in boxes, bottles and loose in bins or bags. Your first encounter is most likely because you have a cold or flu. Maybe someone in the office suggested you take some Echinacea. On the other hand, maybe you have been having difficulty sleeping, and you remember reading somewhere that chamomile tea was good for getting rid of insomnia? The very first thing you need to do before taking any herbal remedy is to do your homework. By themselves and in certain doses, some herbs are beneficial. There are, however, herbs that should not be mixed together and herbs that should not be taken in more than the recommended amounts.
One such herb is Ephedra, or Ma Huang. While this herb can be useful, far too many people abused it. More is not always better, especially with an herb like this. A few years ago, Ephedra was touted as the miracle herb, and quickly gained popularity in the gyms and with athletes. Ephedra boasted quick weight loss by increasing the metabolism and could help with respiratory problems. What people did not know was that Ephedra increases the body's core temperature and is a very powerful stimulant, and in some cases, people have died from taking too much of this potent herb.
If you are looking for a quick fix or instant gratification, herbal remedies are not for you. Using herbs takes time and patience. The herbs often need up to three weeks to start working to heal the body. With all the instant cures on the market it is easy to get frustrated and give up when you do not see immediate results. Stick with your regimen and let the herbs do their work, even if you don't feel anything is happening right away.
There are some herbs that work more quickly than others. Chamomile, Kava-Kava and Valerian, which are all good for sleeplessness, will begin to work in a few hours. If you have an upset stomach or a case of car sickness, ginger will take care of that immediately. If Valerian sounds familiar, it should, this herb's derivative is Valium. Although Valerian is not addictive it is still best to use it with care. As with all herbs, do your research first and remember it is best to err on the side of caution and treat all herbs with the respect and care they deserve.

Seeking Natural Birth Control Tips
Today there is a lot of emphasis on fertility and how to improve a couple's chances of conceiving a baby. But what about that percentage of the population that doesn't want a child? Maybe you are a woman, who has tried things like The Pill (oral contraceptives), or barrier methods, or any number of contraceptives on the market and find that they do not agree with you or your lifestyle. Maybe you are a young couple that is not quite ready for having tubes tied or snipped because later on you might change your mind and want a child. It is a difficult decision to make, yet you are smart enough to know that a child at this point in your life is not the right thing to do.
Natural birth control might be an option, but remember, nothing is failsafe and you need to do your research and talk to professionals before you embark on this decision. Many natural ways of dealing with contraception are popular, and they do work, but they take a lot of time and vigilance to make them work the way they should. Unless you practice your method of choice consistently, chances are you will end up pregnant. Ideally, natural methods of birth control are best undertaken by couples in long-term relationships and require the participation of both partners, and none of the techniques available offer protection against sexually transmitted diseases.
Practicing natural birth control can have several benefits. To start with, women gain a better understanding of how their bodies work. You learn what your cycles are and why your body is doing certain things at certain times over the course of the month. Natural birth control has no side effects. You are not ingesting any medications that alter your body's natural chemistry and forcing your body to do something against the grain. These natural techniques are also inexpensive and don't require a prescription month after month. Because both partners are involved in the process, the responsibility of natural birth control does not fall on one person or the other and can encourage bonding. Moreover, should you decide that you do want a child; you can use these methods to conceive.
Here are the most popular methods of natural birth control:
Standard Days Method (SDM): This method is fairly new and was developed by the Institute for Reproductive Health at Georgetown University School of Medicine. The concept is simple; keep track of how long your menstrual cycle is and then during your most fertile part of the month (which is days 8 - 19) you abstain from sex. This method when followed to the letter is 95% effective.
Ovulation Method: This concept revolves around the consistency of cervical mucus. Researchers have found that the cervix is also affected by monthly changes and will have little to no mucus at the end of a woman's period. As the cycle begins again, the cervix will be preparing for the possibility of fertilization and become thicker. When the body nears ovulation, the cervical mucus becomes thinner and stickier until the time of ovulation. At this point, the mucus will be clear and slippery, creating an ideal environment for sperm. On its own, this method is not as reliable as other methods and a back up method (such as condoms or the sponge) is recommended.
Rhythm/Calendar Method: This particular method is probably the least reliable of the methods available for natural birth control. For a couple to use this, the woman has to count back 14 days from the first day of her period to figure out when she would have ovulated. The problem is, ovulation occurs at different times for each woman, not all women fall into a nice, neat category of 14 days, especially if a woman has irregular periods.
Sympto-thermal Method: For this method you are going to have to take your temperature each morning before you get out of bed. There will be no getting up and puttering around the house first (or anything else for that matter). Before you even throw back those covers, you have to take your temperature and start charting it. Your temperature will fluctuate each day, generally staying in the 97.2ºF to 97.4ºF range. What you are looking for is a sudden spike in those numbers, often a full degree above 98ºF. This rise in temperature will indicate ovulation. Used correctly, and perfectly, the Sympto-thermal method can be 99% accurate.
There are many options for natural birth control out there, and the ones listed here are a few of the choices available. Talk about natural birth control with your partner and decide which option is best for the both of you.

Need Natural Cosmetics Answers
There are so many products we use on a daily basis and think nothing about. We take for granted that the body lotions, shampoos and other cosmetics we buy are good for us and that we shouldn't be afraid that some might cause long term problem. The truth is, many of them can be harmful.
Commercial deodorants, hair spray, nail polish, perfumes, hand and body lotions all contain what are called phthalates. This chemical has been known to cause birth defects and has shown up in higher than normal levels in pregnant women. Some would argue to simply avoid using products with phthalates, but the problem is that not all products list them on their labels.
One would also think that by walking into a health food store and simply buying "all natural" cosmetics would easily solve the problem. The bottom line is this is a lot more difficult than you would imagine. Much of this is due to companies wanting to cash in on the movement towards "all natural" products. Just because a products says they have one or two natural products in it, such as lavender or aloe, does not a safe product make. Get in the habit of reading labels, take a close look at what is going into the product you are buying and don't take the advertisement's word for it that all the ingredients are safe.
The best thing you can do for yourself is to become an informed consumer. Read the labels on the products you buy, become familiar with the terminology. Hand and body lotions are probably the easiest items to find with truly all natural ingredients. The difficulty comes when looking for products such as makeup. There are very few companies out there that offer true all natural products. However, there are companies that make an honest attempt to keep their products as natural as possible. Some of these companies are Origins, Aveda, and Clarins.
One final note to consider is that as with any cosmetic, natural cosmetics can cause allergies when they come in contact with the skin. Always try a test patch on your skin before you fully use the product. If you know you are already allergic to a specific ingredient, avoid purchasing that product. Some of the ingredients attributed to allergic reactions are jojoba oil, tea tree oil, and lavender. There have also been cases reported with vitamin E and aloe causing allergic reactions in people. Knowledge is power, do your research.

Natural Healing Help - Growing Your Own Herbs
There is no better feeling than that of growing your own food. Working in the soil, nurturing the seedlings until they bear fruit brings a sense of pride and accomplishment. Growing your own herbs and can provide you with an ever present source of the herbs you use most. Organic produce and herbs can be expensive too, and growing your own could save you money.
Herb gardens date back as far as the 15th century. Just as herbs have many different uses, so did the types of gardens grown. Every monastery, estate and farmhouse had an herb garden in some form. Herb gardens were a way of life for most people. The midwives had gardens that would contain herbs helpful to women, housewives had gardens that grew the herbs needed for cooking, and English estates had elaborate gardens that graced the property both visually and aromatically. Below are some of the most common types of herb gardens:
Aromatic: This type of herb garden is grown mainly for its aromatic qualities. The flowers are used in floral arrangements, or dried, or the oils extracted for perfume or candles. Some plants you might use are rosemary, lavender, and peppermint.
Culinary: This category probably springs to mind automatically. We cook with herbs everyday and many of them are very easy to grow. Basil, oregano, dill, sage and parsley are just a few herbs common to culinary herb gardens. Rosemary can also be included in this category.
Medicinal: For ages, people have been growing herbs for their medicinal qualities. Herbs like garlic, chamomile, catnip (just make sure the neighborhood cats don't discover it!), and, echinacea all have medicinal benefits.
Ornamental: These types of herbs are grown simply because they look pretty! Although, there are some herbs that are functional too and cross over from the other categories (lavender, echinacea and rosemary all have lovely flowers when in bloom).
When making your herb garden remember that this is your own self expression. There are no rules that say you cannot mix a culinary garden with a medicinal garden, or make an aromatic garden ornamental as well. Do some sketches and make some plans as to how you want your garden to look and what you want it to do. You can add fountains and statuary, or enhance the natural elements of your yard. There are no limits. It all depends on how ambitious you are and how green your thumb is!

Natural Healing Help - Something Juicy About Natural Health Remedies
Back in the late 1980's health food stores were intruducing many people to "juicing". No, not the "juicing" of the bodybuilding world where the term refers to taking steroids. In this case it's all about juice machines and how utilizing the juice of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet can help benefit your health naturally.

Help About Natural Health Remedies - Natural Treatment for Menopause
The recent trend towards natural health care is on the rise, and has been for several years now. Each year, more people are looking for alternative ways for conventional medicinal cures in everything from the common cold to cancer. The largest sector can be found among women searching for other options to treating the symptoms of menopause.
As with all herbal remedies, they do take a while to be absorbed and used by the body. If you want a quick fix, you will not find your answer in the realm of herbs. Most herbs take three to four weeks to begin to work properly, as the elements in the herb have to build up in the system. Of course, the whole process of using natural remedies is time consuming and requires a lot of research to find out what will or will not work for you.

Natural Healing Tips - You Are Getting Sleepy…
We all want to improve ourselves, whether its improving our time in the mile run we do each day, wanting to kick some nasty habit, or just feel more confident about ourselves overall.
Each and every day our sub-conscious is hard at work collecting a vast amount of information from the world around us. The sub-conscious never sleeps, it keeps going through our whole lives picking up on things we usually don't consciously think twice about.
In hypnotism the conscious mind is always present whether we realize it or not. A hypnotist cannot make you do anything you normally wouldn't do on your own. You cannot be programmed to rob a bank or commit murder. Not everyone makes a good candidate for hypnotism either. If you are the type who can't relax easily then hypnotism might not work for you. The ability to relax and let go of your conscious state of mind makes the process that much easier. When it comes right down to it, no one can hypnotize you except yourself.

Natural Healing Information - Is Soy Really Good For Us?
For a few years now soy and soy based products have become very popular. Many people who are vegetarian use soy as a replacement for meat, and people who are lactose intolerant drink soy milk as a substitute for cow's milk. Soy has been so deeply ingrained into our way of life, but is it really good for us? Recent reports seem to say that soy is not.
Not too long ago, several centuries, soy was not considered as a food source, and it is amazing how modern propaganda could push this product into the spotlight. It wasn't until the 2nd Century in China's Chou Dynasty that the fermentation of soy made it a viable option for human consumption. Up until that point it had been mainly used in crop rotation to moderate the nitrogen levels in the soil. The unfermented soybeans were never eaten, as they contained large levels of natural toxins that blocked digestion. Many of these toxins cannot be gotten rid of even through cooking. Soy has been shown to produce serious gastric distress and reduce the proteins needed for proper digestion, and, can also cause cancer.
According to some sources, 99% of soy is genetically altered and contain more pesticides than any food produced in the world today. Studies have shown that vegetarians who consume soy products such as tofu as a substitute for meat run the risk of severe deficiencies in calcium, magnesium and iron.
Producers of soy are still trying to figure out how to get these "anti nutrients" out of soy and make it more "user friendly". One process involves mixing the soy with an alkaline solution to remove the fiber. The process takes place in large aluminum tanks where the aluminum has a chance to seep into the soy as well. After this process, the curds are spray-dried under high temperatures to produce textured vegetable protein (TVP).
Although numerous studies have shown soy to have caused poor results in animals who were fed the product, the soy industry has not let up in its push to market it to the public. School lunches, commercial baked goods and fast food all have soy in them and are consumed in large quantities every day. You have to know that something is seriously wrong when in 1913, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) listed soy as an industrial product and not as food. There was a time when soy wasn't selling quite as much as the soy industry would have hoped, so they changed their marketing tactics. Instead of targeting people who might live in impoverished areas, they shifted their sights to the mainstream and the people with money. Soy became the next fad in a long line of 'miracle foods' and the public literally ate it up. Apparently, this is working and it is scary.

Want Answers About Today's Health Food Store
Growing up in the 1970's most people had been used to weekly excursions to the grocery store, or bakery or butcher shop. They never heard of the terms "organic" or "free range". Health food stores were for people like the neighbors up the street who had been flower children back in the 60's. All that was known about health food was that is smelled funny and if you babysat for vegetarians there was rarely anything "good" to snack on. In the 80's more people had the opportunity to learn about health food stores. They learned about herbs and what organic food was; and they learned how to "juice" fresh fruits and vegetables. Many had the opportunity to try some of the foods their local store had to offer. In the last ten years, health food stores have grown considerably and are on par with most conventional grocery stores.
Wild Oats is a franchise in many cities and when you go into the store, you can tell right away that the basic Mom and Pop operation had changed. This particular chain began eighteen years ago in Boulder, Colorado and has expanded over the years to include more than 110 stores in 24 states and British Columbia. It is clear to see how this company became the standard for the organic market industry.
At first glance, their store looks like any other large grocery store, and you can probably find many of the same items that you would in a standard grocery store - but with one twist. Everything is organic. Usually when you hear the word organic, you might think two things; bland and expensive. However, with all the options and improvements in the way of organic foods are produced, there are many items that are very tasty, and the prices have become comparable to those of a conventional grocery store.
Many of the old staples that one would expect in a health food store are still there. The aisle with the candles and incense is hard to miss. You can easily get lost sniffing all the available combinations of aromatherapy scents available. And there are books, tapes and DVD's on yoga, meditation and New Age music. There are still aisles of herbal remedies and environmentally friendly household products, and the standard juice bar with (you guessed it) wheat grass juice.
Some additions are a pleasant surprise, though. There can be four different "deli" counters. There is usually a butcher counter with free-range chicken and beef and a plethora of fresh seafood. Another counter may display an array of amazing baked goods (bagels, cakes and pastries), and in many stores there is yet another section that caters full meals for a quick healthy lunch or a dinner party. The modern health food store also had a section for wine and beer, an astounding array of cheeses, and an extensive frozen foods section.
It is heartening to see how far the health food store has come. You can still find the small ones here and there; but generally, you will get the better prices in the larger franchises, since buying in bulk allows for more discounts on products, which in turn, can be passed on to the consumer.

Need Answers About Natural Health Remedies?
Today's natural health care industry is more than a lot of New Age mumbo-jumbo. There is more to alternative medicines than dusty old herbal concoctions or remedies your grandmother used to use back in the day. Studies have been done on a lot of natural remedies to prove that they really do work and these methods actually do have some solid, scientific facts to back them up. Why cover up the symptoms of an illness when there is a chance you can actually treat the root of the matter and be rid of the illness for good? Seeking Natural Healing Information - What Is Homeopathy?
What is homeopathy? The concept is very simple; cure an illness with minute amounts of what might actually be causing the illness itself, given in a single remedy. The base principle of homeopathy is that like cures like. One analogy would be snakebite. When a venomous snake bites a person, the cure often takes the form of anti-venom derived from the venom of the snake that bit the person. This theory works the same for allergies and vaccines. The patient receives a small dose of "what ails them" and the vaccine or shot helps to boost the immune system.
Homeopathy is popular in the United States and Europe, being the second most preferred method of medicine in the world. Unlike herbal remedies that can take several days or weeks to build up effectively in a body, homeopathic remedies provide rapid results.
While homeopathic remedies can be helpful, and it would be nice to see more of them in pharmacies or health food stores, it would be impossible to stock all but the most common thirty. Homeopathic remedies are as varied as the symptoms and illnesses they treat. Most of the time you can find what you need, however if you can't find your remedy among the common remedies you may be in for a long search to track it down.

Natural Healing Tips - Do Herbal Remedies Really Work?
Today many people are turning to alternative medicine rather than conventional medicine in a search for both a healthier option to prescription and over the counter drugs, and for an inexpensive means of health care. While some natural methods of health care can be as expensive as conventional ones, many of the options do promote a better way of healing the body.
The main thing to remember when dealing with herbs is that they take a longer time to work than your typical over the counter drugs or prescription drugs. An herb has to build up in the body before you can reap the benefits. This accumulation can occur over a period of days or weeks. With an herbal remedy, you will rarely get an overnight result - unless you are using a laxative such as Seneca, then it works within twenty-four hours.
While a majority of herbal remedies take a few weeks to take effect, there are a handful of herbs that work quickly. Remedies such as chamomile, Kava-kava and valerian have been used for ages to relieve sleeplessness. The Kava-kava and Valerian combination is the most interesting in that it has been known to give people very vivid, almost cinematic, epic dreams. Unlike over the counter sleep aides, you don't wake up feeling groggy or hazy headed. If Valerian sounds familiar, it should, this herb's derivative is Valium. It is still debated whether valerian is addictive, and in most cases, this has not been proven to be so. Still, it is best to treat all herbs with respect and learn as much as you can about the remedies you are taking.
